What is Pressotherapy Machine?

  • The pressotherapy machine is part of the circulatory system of the human body and is vital to the immune system. The presoterapie lymphatic system consists of an extensive network of lymphatic vessels, which are very similar to the blood vessels, and carries a fluid called lymph.
  • Lymph is composed of white blood cells (essential for the immune system), high amounts of fats and debris of bacteria and cells. The presoterapia lymphatic system collects the liquid and debris that accumulate between the cells and tissues. It also collects many lipids generated by digestion.
  • Unlike blood, the presotherapy machine doesn’t have an organ that pumps the lymph, but depends on the muscles and bones that move nearby. How is Pressotherapy Machine Works？

  • Pressotherapy is a treatment that involves a modulated compression on the upper and lower limbs and abdomen, indicated in the case of oedema, water retention, circulatory problems and cellulite, providing an immediate feeling of well-being. This action exerts itself on the lymphatic and venous circulation, making it more functional and consequently improving circulation, metabolism and aesthetic imperfections.
  • The pressure is not exerted simultaneously across the whole surface covered by the segments or leggings, but according to a centripetal sequence which is the same as that followed by the venous blood and the lymph circulation.

How to use the Pressotherapy Machine?

  • You will arrive at your appointment and lie on beauty bed, remove your coat just wear a thin clothes. While you can learn how to give yourself an at-home lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy should always be done in office with a trained practitioner.
  • The esthetician will help you get into the garment (which looks sort of like an astronaut’s space suit). This can be wrapped around the legs, your midsection, arms or all three.
  • The garment has tubes on it that are hooked up to a computerized air pressure machine. The garment will inflate with air and you will feel a squeezing sensation that should feel like pressure, not pain.
  • A typical session will last for 30 to 45 minutes. Your body may feel light afterward, and anecdotally, some people feel they have to urinate right away, which could be due to the movement of water in the body. You can get pressotherapy done as often as twice a week.
